Isn’t that barn wood beautiful?!
We have really enjoyed this latest project of ours! We got our hands on some mirrors and thought it would be awesome to hunt down some barn wood around Central Minnesota and create our own reclaimed barn wood mirrors.
Kenney, my husband, is our main craftsman at the farm, and after gathering some barn wood, he went to work figuring out the best way to build the mirror frames all the while preserving the old wood.
Each board is hand picked for its character and uniqueness and then cut to the standard (33″ x 45″) size or customer made to order. He then drills holes for miter joints to be fastened securely and glued for durability.
After setting in the mirror, we finish off the job by brushing on two coats of a matte, water-based varnish. This preserves the wood changing the look of the old wood. We also attach a wall bracket mounting kit as well as mounting hardware to securely attach to the wall.
Our customers have loved these mirrors, and we are so happy to be able to preserve the wood while creating a timeless look for your home.
With all that said, we are so happy to offer these in our store right here on the blog! Feel free to head on over there and take a look at all of the styles we have to offer.
